A 32-year-old Akron man has been found guilty of two counts of murder after he shot and killed a 4-year-old girl back in February, Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh announced Friday.
A jury also found Darnell Bitting guilty of six counts of felonious assault (firearm specification). He is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 10 at 1 p.m.
Prosecutors Bitting he got into an argument with a woman back on Feb. 16 that eventually led to him firing his AK-47 at the woman's car, shooting and killing her daughter Janaya Swain. U.S. Marshals captured Bitting a day later.
Bitting faces up to life in prison.
