On Tuesday, Summit County Common Please Court Judge Christine Croce handed down a life sentence to Antwane Foster, 35, for breaking into a woman's home and raping her in July 2020.
A Summit County jury found Foster guilty of five charges on June 16 of this year leading to today's sentencing:
- Rape – a Felony of the 1st Degree
- Aggravated Burglary – a Felony of the 1st Degree
- Two counts of Kidnapping – Felonies of the 1st Degree with Sexual Motivation Specifications
- Gross Sexual Imposition – a Felony of the 4th Degree
Foster will be eligible for parole after he serves at least 30 years of his sentence. He was also designated as a Tier III sex offender and must register with the local sheriff every 90 days for the rest of his life if he is released from prison.
“Antwane Foster is a violent, sexual predator and is a danger to the community. He deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison,” said Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh in a statement after the sentencing. “I hope today is part of the ongoing healing process for the survivor. Her inner strength is an inspiration.”
