AKRON, Ohio — An Akron man was sentenced to 22 to 26 years in prison after he was found guilty on three felony counts in relation to a 2021 drive-by shooting.
Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh handed down the sentence to 39-year-old Reginald Carter of Akron on Tuesday after a Summit County jury found Carter guilty on the following charges:
- Two counts of felonious assault with gun specifications and drive-by shooting specifications - Both second degree felonies
- Having a weapon under disability - 3rd degree felony
The shooting of which Carter was convicted and sentenced to prison took place on July 23, 2021. As Carter drove his vehicle on Linnway Drive in Springfield Township, he shot at a group of kids, some as young as 9-years-old, injuring two teens.
