AKRON, Ohio -- The Summit County Medical Examiner has identified the victim of a fatal car crash on Eastland Avenue and Wellington Avenue in Akron early Monday morning.
Juan J. Hogg, 19, of Akron, was killed in the crash.
Police say a vehicle with two people inside was traveling down Eastland Avenue at a high-rate of speed before crashing into a utility pole.
Hogg was pronounced dead at the scene, while the passenger was taken to a nearby hospital. The passenger's identity has not been released.
Eastland Avenue was temporarily closed Monday morning while crews worked on the damaged utility pole.
Akron Police are still investigating the crash. No word on the condition of the passenger.
