AKRON, Ohio — Calling all pizza lovers! This weekend was made just for you as Akron Pizza Fest takes place at Lock 3.
The event runs from Friday – Sunday from Sept. 2-4.
Described as a three-day food and musical festival, Akron Pizza Fest will feature pizza parlors from all across the Akron area.
Some of the participating pizza vendors currently listed on the event's site include:
- Gionino’s Pizzeria
- Upper Crust
- Corbo’s
- Vonny’s Pizza and Gyro
- Pizza Bella
- Twisted Tomato Pizzeria
- DaVinci’s Pizza
- Jet’s Pizza
There’s also a pizza eating contest on the main stage at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. A $15 registration fee is required to participate with proceeds benefiting the Akron Children’s Museum.

FRIDAY, SEPT. 2
- 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. (free admission)
- 5 p.m. to close at 11 p.m. ($5 admission)
SATURDAY, SEPT. 3
- 12-3 p.m. (BOGO adult admission)
- 3 p.m. to close at 11 p.m. ($5 admission)
SUNDAY, SEPT. 4
- 12-3 p.m. (BOGO adult admission)
- 3 p.m. to close at 6:30 p.m. ($5 admission)

Pricing is listed as follows:
- Adults: $5
- College discount: $3 admission with university ID
- Children ages 13-17: $2
- Children ages 12 and younger: Free
Organizers say admission covers all entertainment with “near continuous live music,” free cornhole games and more.
