AKRON, Ohio — A 20-year-old man is dead after he was shot in the back, Akron police say.
At approximately 3:25 on Saturday afternoon, officers responded to an area near the corner of Raymond Street and West Bartges Street after reports came in of a shooting.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the victim with a gunshot wound in his back. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has since been identified as Antwan James Edwards of Akron. Detectives recovered shell casings and other evidence from the scene.
