Akron police: 2 arrested after allegedly breaking into home, robbing woman at gunpoint

The incident happened on Tuesday night at 11:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Tyler Street.

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department arrested two men after they allegedly invaded a woman's home and robbed her at gunpoint on Tuesday night.

According to the Akron Police Department, the incident happened at 11:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Tyler Street. 

When officers responded to the alleged home invasion, the victim reported that two men had broken into her home and woke her up at gunpoint. The duo allegedly assaulted the woman and demanded her money. 

Police say the suspects fled in the victim's vehicle after taking her money.

Akron police officers found the vehicle parked in a driveway in the 1100 block of Vernon Odom Boulevard where the two men got into the vehicle, attempting to drive away. 

Upon initiating a stop, the suspects allegedly fled on foot. Akron police eventually arrested both suspects after a short chase with one and a K9 unit finding the other.  

18-year-old Kyzai Green of Canton and 31-year-old Tearle Turner of Alliance were both arrested. The duo is being charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and receiving stolen property.
