Akron police issue warrant for suspect wanted in murder of 37-year-old man

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department has issued a warrant for 35-year-old Brandon Jones in connection with the shooting death of a 37-year-old man earlier this week.

Jones is facing murder and felonious assault charges in the death of 37-year-old Donald Bailey, who was found fatally shot earlier this week. 

At 10:00 p.m. on Monday, Bailey was found shot near a white Jeep in the area of Dover Ave. and Bellevue Ave. Moments earlier, residents reported hearing multiple gunshots before officers arrived. Police found Bailey with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead. 

The suspects fled the scene in a dark colored vehicle.
