AKRON, Ohio — A man is in custody after an alleged stabbing in Akron, according to police.
On Friday, November 15 at approximately 9:22 p.m., Akron officers responded to calls of a fight taking place at a residence on the 1700 block of Shaw Avenue.
When officers arrived to the property, a man who was described as having "visible injuries to his hands" answered the door. While checking the inside of the residence, officers found an unresponsive 56-year-old woman with an apparent stab wound.
The man, identified as 34-year-old Jarel Wooden, was arrested and charged with murder after officers conducted a short investigation of the crime scene.
Wooden was transported to the Summit County Jail.
