CLEVELAND — Akron police are investigating after a man was found dead with apparent gunshot wounds outside a hookah lounge overnight Saturday.
According to a press release from the Akron Police Department, officers were called to the Exhale Hookah Lounge in the 500 block of East Exchange Street just after 2:15 a.m. for a report of a possible shooting and found a 33-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.
The man, whose name is being withheld by police, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.
According to police, "most" of the customers inside the hookah lounge had left the scene before officers arrived.
Police said details of what led up to the fatal shooting are "unknown" and investigators are working to find out more.
