Akron police searching for suspect after 44-year-old man shot

Akron police say the shooting happened on Wednesday in the area of North Arlington Street and North Forge Street.

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department is investigating the shooting of a 44-year-old man on Wednesday afternoon.

In a release, Akron police say officers responded to the area of North Arlington Street and North Forge Street at approximately 2:30 p.m. for the report of a shooting.

"On scene, officers located a male, 44 years old, who had been shot," Akron police report. "Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect."

According to police, the shooting victim was taken to an area hospital and is in stable condition.  

The incident remains under investigation. No information about the suspect was provided in the release.
