Akron police: 18-year-old man taken to hospital following shooting

AKRON, Ohio — Akron police are investigating after a man was shot. 

Police say the incident happened on Tuesday at around 5 p.m. in the 1500 block of Garman Road. 

Upon arriving at the scene, police found the victim, an 18-year-old man, with an apparent gunshot wound. 

EMS treated the victim at the scene and transported him to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center with a non-life-threatening injury. 

"Detectives are working to obtain additional information, including determining the exact location of the incident, the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and identifying the suspect involved," said Akron police in a press release.
