Woman hurt in overnight Akron shooting: Police say it's believed an unknown suspect fired multiple rounds into home

AKRON, Ohio — Police in Akron are looking for answers after a 47-year-old woman was shot in the arm early Monday morning.

It was around 3 a.m. when officers responded to the scene in the 40 block of Spruce Street.

Upon their arrival, police say the victim was found in an upstairs bedroom.

Police say she was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police say her injury is not considered life-threatening.

Her name was not released.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown,” according to a press release from Akron police. “However, officers believe an unknown suspect fired multiple rounds into the home, and one of the bullets struck the victim. Evidence was collected from the scene, and it will be processed.”
