AKRON, Ohio — A 26-year-old woman has been arrested on multiple charges after Akron police say she opened fire in the 2000 block of 18th Street SW, allegedly striking a vehicle and house in the Kenmore neighborhood.
Akron police say it was around 9:43 p.m. Tuesday when officers responded to the scene after receiving a call “of a suspicious person with a gun on the porch of a house.”
The suspect -- identified as Brandy Parsons -- is facing charges of felonious assault, aggravated trespass, aggravated menacing, discharging a firearm and criminal damaging.
Akron police say the initial investigation determined “there appeared to be no apparent reason for the woman to have been at the residence.”
“When Parsons started knocking on the front door, a victim inside the home called his father,” according to Akron police. “When the father pulled into the driveway, the suspect fired at least three shots in his direction, striking the vehicle.”
The home had also been struck three times, according to Akron police. The officers recovered the gun and multiple shell casings from the front porch.
As the incident remains under investigation, Akron police are asking anybody with information to call the Akron Police Department Detective Bureau at 330-375-2490. Tips can also be provided anonymously by calling the Summit County Crime Stoppers at 330-434-COPS.
