AKRON, Ohio — St. Patrick’s Day comes early in Akron as the city celebrates with their parade on Saturday, March 12.
The parade, which kicks off at noon, begins at Cedar / Main. It then travels northbound on South Main Street and then to Bowery Street in downtown Akron.
“The parade will feature high school and grade school bands, non-profit organizations, businesses, animal groups, floats and more,” according to a press release from Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan’s Office.
Lineup for the parade will begin at 10 a.m. in the northbound lanes of South Main Street between Bartges and Cedar streets. South Main Street will then close entirely between Bartges and Mill streets from 11:50 a.m. The roadway is set to reopen no later than 1:30 p.m.
Immediately after the parade concludes, the All-American Judges Association will present awards to participants at Lock 3.
Cleveland's 2022 St. Patrick's Day Parade, meanwhile, is set to begin at 1:04 p.m. on Thursday, March 17.
