AKRON, Ohio — Although St. Patrick's Day doesn't arrive until next week, the city of Akron is getting an early start on the celebration as the community parade takes place this weekend.
The 2023 St. Patrick's Day Parade is set for 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, according to the Downtown Akron Partnership -- a full six days before St. Patrick's Day.
Akron's parade takes place on Main Street between Cedar and Bowery.
Oh, and don't forget to wear your green!
An after party will be held at the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) Hall for a $5 cover charge. The AOH says their St. Patrick's Day events on March 11 also include breakfast from 7-11 a.m., lunch from 2-4:30 p.m. and dinner starting at 5 p.m.
Cleveland, meanwhile, will hold their St. Patrick's Day Parade on Friday, March 17. The parade will begin at Superior Avenue and East 18th Street at 1:04 p.m. You can see the full Cleveland parade route HERE. This year's theme is "A Salute to Irish American Athletes."
