AKRON, Ohio — Two men were shot while attending a vigil in Akron around 7 p.m. Thursday.
Authorities say the men – ages 23 and 22 – were both in the area of Fernwood Drive and Hoye Avenue where a 23-year-old man was shot a killed just a few days earlier.
Police say the victims drove themselves to the hospital. Their injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
Officers in the area responded to the scene after hearing multiple gunshots. They witnessed as many as 100 people fleeing the area due to the gunshots, but police said there were no other victims or injuries reported.
There are no arrests at this time.
“Detectives are trying to determine the exact circumstances and number of suspects involved,” police officials said in a press release Friday.
