AKRON, Ohio -- An Akron woman pleaded guilty in connection with the death of a 7-week-old baby, according to Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh.

Laura Flores-Santillan, 50, pleaded guilty to reckless homicide and endangering children.

Earlier in September, she was hired to babysit the 7-week-old at her home when the infant suffered severe head trauma. It was determined the child's head hit an object while being shaken. Four days later, the baby was removed from life-support.

Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas Teodosio is set to sentence her at 9 a.m. Sept. 23.
