CLEVELAND — The Akron Symphony Orchestra is partnering with a local brewery to create a new special edition beer, the orchestra announced Monday.
"Beerthoven's Blonde" is a new limited edition ale from Akron's Hoppin' Frog Brewery that will soon be available exclusively at the brewery at the Akron Symphony's performances at EJ Thomas Hall.
"'Beerthoven's Blonde' is a crisp and refreshing ale with a splash of honey flavor, perfectly crafted to add some fun and flavor to the symphony experience," the ASO said. "Whether you're a beer enthusiast, a music lover, or both, this collaboration promises to enhance your experience in a way that's as memorable as it is enjoyable."
Hoppin' Frog will host a release party for the new beer on Sept. 20 from 5-8 p.m., where attendees can taste the beer and mingle with members of the orchestra.
Those who get a kick out of the pun behind the beer's name might also find themselves interested in the ASO's upcoming season, which begins Sept. 21 with a program highlighted by Rachmaninoff's second piano concerto and includes a performance of the namesake Beethoven's first symphony on March 29, 2025. Single tickets and season subscriptions are on sale now.
