224 West opens after crash at Kenmore Leg in Summit County

Crash closes 224 West at the Kenmore Leg in Summit County.

AKRON, Ohio — A portion of U.S. 224 West was closed on Wednesday in Summit County due to a crash at the Kenmore Leg.

As of 2:22 p.m., ODOT officials say that I-277/ U.S. 244 westbound is now open. 

Traffic cameras on Wednesday showed multiple crews, including several firetrucks at the scene of an overturned semi-truck. 

Akron Police told 3News that the driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital. 

ODOT officials tweeted about the closure shortly before 11 a.m. Wednesday and urged drivers to avoid the area until further notice.

Drivers approaching the road closure were being re-routed to the northbound lanes of the Kenmore Leg.
