AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Monday afternoon that left one person dead.
Around 3:30 p.m yesterday, Eugene Calvin Wells Jr. was involved in a fight outside a convenience store with another man.
According to a witness, Wells shot a 23-year old male multiple times. When officers arrived, they found the victim lying in the middle of the intersection of Princeton Street and West South Street with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General where he later died.
Wells fled the scene in a black Chevy Impala with tinted windows and should be considered armed and dangerous.
