FAIRLAWN, Ohio -- Shuttle Commander Mark Kelly spoke alongside his wife, former Arizona congresswoman Gabby Giffords, at Akron's EJ Thomas Hall Wednesday.

In 2011, Giffords survived an assassination attempt in Tucson, AZ that left six people dead.

Now, she and her husband are promoting responsible gun laws with their political action committee, Americans for Responsible Solutions.

Kelly sat down with Channel 3's Monica Robins to talk about how his wife is doing and what they believe is necessary to end gun violence.

While Kelly may be retired from space travel, he's still very involved in the science that may one day take us to Mars. To see that story, click here.
