The saga of the jumbotron breakup between Tim and Alyssa at an Akron Rubberducks game continues!
On Wednesday, the Northeast Ohio minor league team announced Wednesday that they will host a "Tim and Alyssa Night" at Canal Park on September 15 in honor of the viral breakup.
In mid-August, social media lit up after one Akron RubberDucks fan paid $5 to put a special shout on the jumbotron at Canal Park, which read "Alyssa, this relationship is OVER. -Tim."
Following the incident, the RubberDucks creative services coordinator Jack Haines confirmed to 3News that the message was in fact real.
Now, in an effort to find Tim and Alyssa--who have yet to be publicly identified-- the RubberDucks are offering a sweet deal to certain Northeast Ohio residents.
"Understanding they may come separately, the team is offering anyone named Tim or Alyssa – who presents an ID at the box office – a game ticket for $5, the same amount that “Tim” paid for the Aug. 19 video board breakup announcement," a press release from the team reads.
The first 1,000 game attendees will also receive a free tee-shirt with "Team Alyssa" or "Team Tim" on it, and the first team to run out of shirts will be announced as the "fan-voted winner."
Tickets can be puchased ahead of time here. Gates at Canal Park open on September 15 at 5:35 p.m. for the 6:35 p.m. game.
