MONTROSE, Ohio — NBA star LeBron James and his wife, Savannah, took to social media to react to the closure of Outback Steakhouse in Akron.
Bloomin' Brands, the parent company of Outback Steakhouse, previously told 3News that the closure for the location along "Restaurant Hill" in Montrose went into effect on Friday, Feb. 23.
Following the announcement, Savannah shared the news on her Instagram story, saying, "Nooooo @kingjames!!! Our first date memories."
LeBron took to Instagram to repost Savannah's story, adding "OMFG!!! Why why why," with a bunch of teary-eyes emojis.
"Closing a restaurant is never easy," Bloomin' Brands said in a statement provided to 3News Wednesday morning. "This was a business decision that is not a reflection of the management or staff. Some employees will have the opportunity to transfer. Those who do not will receive a severance package. We appreciate the community’s support over the past 30 years and hope to see you at our Macedonia or Cuyahoga Falls locations."
The Outback Steakhouse in Akron isn't the only location closing its doors. Bloomin' Brands announced 41 restaurant closures, mostly Outback Steakhouse locations, along with a handful of others, including Carrabba's Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar.
The couple got married in 2013 and have three children: Bronny, Bryce and Zhuri.
LeBron and Savannah have lots to celebrate as 'The Kid from Akron' became the first NBA player to score 40,000 career points in a game against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night.
