The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office was called to the scene Wednesday afternoon where a Norton student was hit and killed by a school bus.
A Norton School District employee confirmed that the student had been struck.
The Norton Police Department and Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office are still investigating a fatal pedestrian traffic crash that occurred around 2:45 p.m. today.
Police say the crash occurred in the 3100 block of Greenwich Road, involving a Norton City Schools school bus and a Norton High School student, 16.
Wednesday evening, Norton High School Principal Ryan Shanor confirmed to WKYC that the student was Kyle Richmond.
Police say Richmond fell from a skate board and was struck by the school bus. Police say Richmond suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Summit County Metro Crash Team is assisting in the investigation.
