Just north of downtown Akron, in the shadow of Summa/St. Thomas Hospital, sits Parasson's Italian Restaurant.
Their last day of operation is December 31.
For many, it's like losing an old friend.
Sarah Smith was heartbroken when she found out. "I was really sad. we love it here. We come here once a week, we work downtown. It's convenient, it's fast. Really sad to see it go."
Like many since the announcement was made to close the doors, Jennifer Boley remembers her younger days here. "It's our childhood, growing up. This is where you went, you know it was always the place to be."
So many memories made in these dining rooms. Some found love, like the Gerbetz's.
Katie Gerbetz shared this memory, "My husband and I met here sixteen years ago. We worked here in college and are now married and have two little kids."
Akron resident Barbara Long shared too. "Football games, first dates, anniversaries. We came here for one of my anniversaries."
On Thursday, the dining room was filled with customers, nostalgia, and of course baskets of complimentary garlic bread.
Many generations dined within the walls of Parasson's, and countless patrons ended their dinners with a picture alongside the iconic suit of armor, located in the lobby. It's still going on to this day, and will continue in one of Parasson's remaining locations in Stow, Barberton, or on Waterloo Road in Akron.
North Hill was the original Parasson's opening in 1967.
"It's the end of an era", says lunch customer Diane Deekovich.
As 2016 fades off into history, it has taken so much with it, but it will never take the memories made here at Parasson's on North Hill.
