AKRON, Ohio — The curtain has closed on yet another movie theater in Northeast Ohio – this time it’s the Regal Interstate Park located on Interstate Parkway just off I-77 and Arlington Road in Akron.
Here is the full message about the theater’s closure as posted by Regal Interstate Park:
Regal Interstate Park is closing June 6. You can still enjoy the best place to watch a movie at these nearby theatres: Regal Independence, Regal Massillon, Regal Hudson.
Regal Interstate Park first opened with 14 screens in December of 1994, according to CinemaTreasures.org, adding four additional screens in January of 1999.
Earlier this year, Regal Cinemas permanently closed its Montrose Movies Stadium 12 on Medina Road along with their location at Great Northern Mall. This was part of dozens of Regal closures nationwide, which came a few months after Cineworld Group LLC, the company that owns Regal Cinemas, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
