AKRON, Ohio — Stan Hywet's expansive estate and gardens in Akron will be opening to members and general public in the coming days.
Stan Hywet officially opens for the 2020 season on Friday, June 12. The Manor House and grounds will be open June 12-14 for Stan Hywet members only, as the estate gradually reopens.
Regular operations and admission fees for the general public will begin on Tuesday, June 16.
"All tours, including Manor House tours, will be self-guided," the release states. "There will be capacity limits throughout the estate to allow for the safety of guests, staff, and volunteers."
Hours of operation are 10 a.m.-6 p.m, with the last admission at 4:30 p.m. The Manor House will be open for tours from 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
A new garden exhibit, presented in partnership with Peg's Foundation, titled WINDS OF CHANGE will be a part of the roll out. The installation explores social transformation in America in the aftermath of World War I. "The garden exhibit commemorates the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage in the U.S., with thirteen sculptures created by local female artists," says the release.
"It's been a long wait for everyone, and the team is excited to show off its great work for this season with guests," said Sean M. Joyce, President & Executive Director of Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens.
