The Akron Police Department and Public Schools are investigating a social media post that sparked concern on Thursday.
According to reports, the post showed two boys inside a bathroom at Firestone CLC (high school) taking pictures while each was displaying a "gun."
Officials have not yet determined if the weapon was real or fake.
As of Thursday evening, both students were identified and neither of them are believed to be students in the district. Officials however, were unable to locate either of the boys in the building after the photo had been posted online.
As a result of the incident, Akron Police and Public Schools plan to increase security indefinitely.
