AKRON, Ohio — A 32-year-old man is in custody after allegedly attacking a woman in the Summit Metro Parks.
Akron police say the incident happened in the 1100 block of Cuyahoga Street near Trailhead at around 9:17 a.m. on Monday.
Officers and a ranger with Summit Metro Parks responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call about a woman screaming for help. Upon arriving at the scene, officers spoke with the 33-year-old victim, who was visibly shaken up.
The victim told police that she was coming from the bathroom when the suspect allegedly grabbed her from behind and started assaulting her.
"Moments later, three good Samaritan women heard the victim screaming for help and went to her aid. During the attack, one of the women reportedly struck the suspect in the head with a rock, and together, they helped pull the victim away from her attacker," said Akron police in a press release.
Issac Armour was arrested at the scene and was charged with gross sexual imposition, unlawful restraint and assault. He was taken to the Summit County Jail following his arrest.
