Watch: Suspect wanted in Akron shooting seen opening fire from vehicle in newly released surveillance video

AKRON, Ohio — In their hopes to find the suspect involved, Akron police have released surveillance video of an early morning shooting that happened back on July 5 in which a 31-year-old man was hurt.

In new details released Tuesday, police say detectives are currently working to locate a white Jeep Grand Wagoneer and the occupants inside – specifically, the right-rear passenger who is seen in the surveillance footage hanging out of the window and opening fire. The suspect is believed to be approximately 16 to 25 years old, according to police.

Police say multiple officers responded to the scene in the 1400 block of South Main Street around 3:50 a.m. The victim was found on Firestone Parkway with an apparent gunshot wound to his arm. He was then taken to an Akron hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
