AKRON, Ohio — Do you recognize this suspect?
Akron police released surveillance video Friday that shows an unknown male who allegedly robbed two businesses along Copley Road just minutes apart.
Officers say they responded to the first incident at the Family Dollar in the 900 block of Copley Road around 2:25 p.m. Thursday. When they arrived, the suspect was already gone.
“According to store employees, the suspect entered the store, selected a pack of batteries and approached the cashier,” police said. “Once at the counter, the suspect pulled a handgun, pointed it at the cashier and demanded money from the register.”
Police say he then reached over the counter and took an undisclosed amount of money from the register before fleeing the scene.

Approximately 15 minutes later, police believe the same man robbed a second store at gunpoint – this time at the Walgreens, in the 1300 block of Copley Road. According to the clerk, the suspect produced a handgun and demanded money from the register. After the robbery, the robber fled the store with an undisclosed amount of money.
