Medical examiner identifies victim in deadly Akron New Year's Eve shooting

His death has been ruled a homicide.

AKRON, Ohio — Police are still searching for a pair of suspects wanted in the deadly shooting of a 24-year-old man on New Year's Eve.

It happened in the 800 block of Kenyon Street around 10:44 p.m. 

Responding officers found a silver Chevrolet Malibu parked in the middle of the street. Inside, they found the victim, identified as 24-year-old Darrick R. Boyer. The Summit County Medical Examiner says Boyer was shot several times.

Boyer was taken to Akron General Medical Center, where he later died.

Police say they are looking for two men, described as being 20-30 years old. Witnesses say the men were about 5-foot-10 and between 150-180 pounds. They fled the scene in a dark-colored vehicle.
