Akron police say at around 3:20 p.m. officers responded to an attempted robbery in the 1000 block of Joy Avenue.

The 74-year-old homeowner told police that two suspects, one armed with a handgun, entered his home in masks and threatened to shoot him while "demanding property."

Police say the suspects eventually left the victim's home without taking anything. Officers searched the nearby area and arrested 19-year-old Damarcus McCall and a 16-year-old boy in connection to the break-in.

Both of the suspects were charged with aggravated robbery, while the 16-year-old boy was charged with carrying concealed weapons and obstructing official business.

Police say the suspects were transported to the Summit County Jail and the Juvenile Detention Facility.
