AKRON, Ohio — A dog that was rescued by a Springfield Township Police officer Sunday afternoon has been reunited with is family.
According to the department, Officer Simms rescued the dog, temporarily named " Lucky," from a pond on Killian Road.
"Lucky" had fallen through the pond's ice but was safely brought back to dry land by Officer Simms.
When Lucky was rescued he wasn't wearing a collar or any tags. He was taken to a helpful resident's home to warm up while officials searched for his owners.
The black and white male dog has now been reunited with his family.
