AKRON, Ohio — A 34-year-old woman was arrested after an Akron Police Department K-9 found illegal drugs and paraphernalia in her car during a traffic stop.
On Tuesday, April 31 at approximately 2:25 p.m., Akron officers stopped the woman near Bank Street and Williams Street for a moving violation. During the stop, a K-9 named Jaro was deployed by the officers after they became suspicious that the woman may have had drugs in her vehicle.
While Jaro sniffed near the vehicle, he alerted officers to the driver's door and the woman's purse.
After a search of the car was conducted, Akron police found 22 grams of methamphetamines, 7 grams of hashish, a bottle of THC oil, over two dozen Alprazolam pills, and drug paraphernalia.
The woman was placed under arrest and charged with the following:
- Three counts - Possession of drugs
- One count - Illegal use of drug paraphernalia
