AKRON, Ohio — The United States Marshals Service has announced that they have arrested a 26-year-old woman who was wanted by the Summit County Sheriff's Office after failing to appear for aggravated murder.
Leslie Lopez is accused of being involved in a shooting that took place on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, in the 2100 block of 12th Street Southwest in Akron.
A 26-year-old man was killed after being shot while standing on the front porch of a residence.
Lopez was arrested on Friday morning by Mexican authorities and the U.S. Marshals Service near the 2300 block of Calle General Tomas de la Garza, Neuvo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico.
Currently, Lopez is being held at the Webb County Jail in Laredo, Texas, while she awaits her extradition back to Ohio.
“The reach of the United States Marshals Service is nationwide, as well as international. We have outstanding partnerships all over the world that will assist us in arresting our most violent fugitives," said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott.
