CINCINNATI — A 22-year-old man was arrested in connection to a statewide AMBER Alert issued Monday morning, according to U.S. Marshals.
The AMBER Alert was issued for a 17-year-old and her 1-year-old daughter who were both taken from a foster home in West Chester Township near Cincinnati, Marshals said. It was canceled Monday afternoon after they were found safe at a home in the 300 block of Gibbs Avenue in Akron.
The suspect and father of the baby, Bayron Tejeda, was arrested at the same location.
U.S. Marshals say he'll be held in Akron until he can be extradited to West Chester Township.
According to WCPO, West Chester police said the two girls were placed in that foster home as an emergency response to circumstances of domestic violence at their previous home in Akron tied to an incident reported on March 9.
When the alert was issued, both girls were believed to be in danger due to an alleged history of “severe domestic violence” by Tejeda, West Chester Township said in a release.
Police are still investigating the incident.
