CLEVELAND -- The police pursuit began in Cleveland. It ended about 20 miles away in the parking lot of Heritage Middle School in East Cleveland.
Even though a year has gone by, several groups, friends, and family members are still looking for answers and accountability.
It has been exactly one year since Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams were shot and killed.
Friday evening, several people and groups came together to remember the two.
Russell and Williams were killed in a hail of bullets Nov. 29, 2012. Thirteen officers fired 137 shots.
Police say they thought they'd heard a shot from the car. However, no weapon was found with the suspects.
Crowded together on the anniversary -- despite the cold -- people from The Oppressed People's Nation, along with Black on Black Crime Inc., Survivors/Victims of Tragedy, family and clergy came together.
It was a night to remember Russell and Williams and it was also a call for justice.
Meanwhile, the investigation itself is still not over.
Right now, a Cuyahoga County grand jury is considering whether any criminal charges should be filed against officers.
