ASHTABULA COUNTY, Ohio — Ashtabula County officials say that the two people found dead in a home Thursday evening died from apparent drug overdoses.
Officials with the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Office confirmed the news Friday morning, saying that they received a call Thursday evening from the Ashtabula Police Department about a missing woman.
The sheriff's office then received a tip that the missing 56-year-old woman's vehicle was spotted at a home in the 200 block of Maruba Avenue. Officers arrived and knocked on the door to the home with no response, then looked in through a window and noticed what looked like two bodies on the floor.
The officers entered the home and found the two people, both aged 56, deceased. Officials tell 3News that drugs and drug paraphernalia were seized from the home and there is no sign of foul play.
The cause of death will be confirmed by toxicology tests, Ashtabula County officials say.
The incident remains under investigation. No other information is available at the moment.
