According to a release, deputies were called to the 5000 block of Hemlock Lane at approximately 6:40 p.m. Monday after a homeowner found his son and his son’s girlfriend both deceased with gunshot wounds inside the home. Investigators believe that a 24-year-old male shot and killed his 20-year-old girlfriend before shooting and killing himself.
Family members say that they last had contact with the female victim at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. The female victim's mother said that she was concerned her daughter wasn't responding to phone calls and text messages, which led to her parents driving from Pennsylvania to check on her, with her GPS location showing she was at the residence.
Upon arriving at the residence, the female victim's parents were unable to get a response from inside the house and contacted the male victim's father.
According to a release, the couple had been dating for six months and their relationship was described as "happy" and "healthy." It is currently unknown what circumstances led to the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
