Ashtabula police arrest 2 teenage boys following shooting

The shooting happened on Sunday, May 5, in the 1400 block of Perryville Place.

ASHTABULA, Ohio — An investigation is underway after two teenagers were arrested in connection to the shooting of a 17-year-old boy in Ashtabula. 

Ashtabula police say the incident happened on Sunday, May 5, at 2:45 a.m. in the 1400 block of Perryville Place.

After learning of reports of shots being fired, security officials at the Ashtabula County Medical Center notified police of a boy arriving at the emergency room with a gunshot wound. 

Upon arriving at the Ashtabula County Medical Center, medical staff determined that the victim had been shot twice. 

During the investigation, detectives identified the alleged shooters as two 16-year-old boys from Ashtabula. Police located and arrested the two teenagers and seized the ammunition and firearms believed to be used in the shooting. 

Police say that the victim had emergency surgery and is currently in stable condition.
