But until Wednesday, she had never seen a black bear there.

Elmore shared her Ring doorbell video footage with 3News along with a story of what happened.

"Early this morning, I was laying in bed and saw the camera stated there was motion at our front door. And when I looked at the notification there was a picture of a bear," she explained.

Elmore woke up her boyfriend and said by the time the pair had gotten to their living room, the bear had left their front porch. They found that the bear had knocked over their garbage can and "rummaged through it a little bit." Shortly after that, the bear was gone.

"My boyfriend and I normally get countless raccoons and sometimes possum at our house. We have a few outside and stray cats that we feed so we see some of those animals because of it. We also live close to the Grand River so we often see a lot of deer near our house as well, Elmore added. "I've never encountered or seen a bear before in my life and it's just so crazy that this one came up onto our porch!"
