Man struck by car outside Ashtabula gentlemen's club; suspect still at large

A witness to the incident performed CPR on the victim until EMS arrived.

ASHTABULA, Ohio — A man was stuck by a vehicle outside of the Rare Cherry Gentlemen's Club in Ashtabula on Saturday morning.

According to the Ashtabula County Sheriff's Office, a large fight broke out inside the club at approximately 2 a.m., eventually spilling out to the parking lot.

One of the individuals involved in the fight got into a car and began to drive toward the crowd of people involved in the fight, striking a man with his vehicle in the process.

The suspect continued to drive the car after striking the victim, eventually hitting a telephone pole. Several witnesses removed the suspect from the vehicle and began assaulting him. However, he was able to run away from the scene.

Another witness began performing CPR on the victim after he was struck. EMS transported him to the Ashtabula County Medical Center. He was then life flighted to an unnamed Cleveland hospital.

The victim's condition has not been released.

The suspect still remains at large. The identities of the victim and suspect have not been revealed at this time.

The investigation is ongoing. 3News will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.

According to a Facebook post on the Ashtabula Criminal Activity page, a man who claims to be a childhood friend of the victim was the one who performed CPR. The text of his post to the page can be seen below:

"THANKYOU EVERYONE I HONESTLY DO NOT WANNA BE LOOKED AT LIKE A HERO OR ANYTHING I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS FOR ANYBODY WE ARE A COMMUNITY BUT DOING IT ON SOMEONE YOU KNOW AND GREW UP WITH IS INSANE. BUT I HAVE TO THANK BROADFEILD CARE CENTER FOR GIVING ME PROPER TRAINING TOO DO SUCH A ACT. THANKYOU AGAIN EVERYONE MUCH LOVE"
