U.S. Marshals on Wednesday helped arrest three people in Canton who were wanted on accusations that they kidnapped and beat victims over multiple days this month.

Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Jermaine Taylor, Cassandra Cheek and Tyson Dean on charges of kidnapping and felonious assault.

Taylor, Cheek and Dean were wanted by the Canton Police Department after police say they held two victims in the basement of a house on the 1500 block of Clark Avenue Southwest from "at least" July 10-12. Police allege the three suspects beat the victims with a baseball bat and pistol-whipped the victims using a gun.

The suspects had been featured this week as the Marshals Service's "Fugitives of the Week."

Dean was arrested Wednesday afternoon near the 1800 block of Woodlawn Avenue Northwest, while police detained Cheek And Taylor at an address near the 200 block of Millvale Avenue Northeast.

"The strong partnership between the US Marshals Service and the Canton Police Department has resulted in hundreds of arrests over the years," U.S. Marshal Pete Elliot said. "Taking these three violent fugitives off the street is another example of our strong partnership and our commitment to make the communities we serve a safer place to live.”
