CLEVELAND — As authorities continue searching for answers in the Sept. 2011 cold case murder of Dale Settle, Jr. in Canton, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of those responsible.
According to the ATF, the reward is being offered for information leading to the identification and arrest of the individuals responsible for the Sept. 2011 murder of Dale Settle, Jr.
“ATF works together day in and day out with our local partners to solve violent crimes in our community,” said Daryl S. McCormick, Special Agent in Charge of ATF’s Columbus Field Division. “We are offering a reward at this time with the hope that someone will come forward with information that will lead us to the individual or individuals responsible for this crime. We need to bring closure to this family, prevent more needless violence, and ensure that those responsible are held to account.”
The case dates back to Sept. 22, 2011, when Settle attended a Bible study in the 600 block of Hazlett Avenue Northwest in Canton.
According to the Ohio Attorney General's Office, Settle, who was 22 years old at the time, was confronted by "two unidentified suspects who attempted to rob him at gunpoint."
One of the suspects allegedly shot Settle, who later died at the hospital as a result of his injuries from the gunshot wound.
