CLEVELAND — A Canton man is facing charges after police arrested him during a bank robbery on Thursday, police said.
According to Canton Police Chief John Gabbard, the incident happened at around 11:30 a.m. at the Chase Bank on 30th Street Northwest.
Police say Zaviee K. Pledgure, 27, was brandishing a weapon at a bank teller when they arrived. According to police, "numerous customers" were inside the bank during the alleged robbery.
Officers arrested Pledgure in the bank after ordering him to the ground at gunpoint. Police say they recovered $6,500 and a Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun.
Pledgure is charged with one count of aggravated robbery and eight counts of kidnapping. He is in custody at the Stark County Jail.
