Troopers say the crash happened on Tuesday night at around 9:55 p.m. at the intersection of Tuscarawas Street West and Bordner Avenue in Perry Township.

Upon investigation, officials believe that a 2023 Kawaski motorcycle traveling east on Tuscarawas Street West struck a 2015 Dodge Dart while it attempted to make a left turn onto Bordner Avenue.

The driver of the motorcycle, who was identified as Carpenter, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Stark County Coroner. The driver of the Dodge Dart, a 24-year-old woman, was not injured in the crash.

OSHP officials noted that alcohol and drug use are not believed to be factors in the crash. Additionally, Carpenter was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Perry Township Fire and EMS, Perry Township Police Department, Stark County Coroner’s Office, and Belden Village Towing were on scene to assist

At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
