CANTON, Ohio — One individual is dead, and another is critically injured following an early Friday morning single-vehicle crash in Canton.
According to the Canton Police Department, the crash happened on the 2500 block of Market Avenue North at around 12:55 a.m.
Upon arriving on the scene, officers discovered a 2007 Hummer H3 overturned on the east side of the road with two passengers trapped inside.
The Canton Fire Department extracted the two occupants. One passenger died at the scene and another was taken to the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in critical condition.
Officials believe the Hummer was traveling southbound on Market Avenue before it traveled left of center off the road and struck a tree.
The names of the victims have not yet been released at this time.
At this time, an investigation is underway by the Canton Metro Crash Team.
