CANTON, Ohio — Three men have been arrested in connection to a deadly arson fire that happened earlier this month in Canton.
Fire officials say the incident happened on May 1 in the 200 block of Lincoln Avenue Northwest. As a result of the fire, 66-year-old Frank Campbell died.
Early on Wednesday, Canton fire announced that Corey Bulstrom of Louisville was arrested and charged with aggravated murder and complicity to aggravated arson. In addition, Salvatore Morris of Canton was charged with complicity to aggravated murder and complicity to aggravated arson.
Also on Wednesday, fire officials added that Clayton Lee Cunningham was apprehended by the FBI Task Force and booked into the Stark County Jail. His charges are listed as aggravated murder and aggravated arson.
"When crews arrived, they found heavy fire in the front of the house," according to a press release from the Canton Fire Department. "While entering the front door to suppress the fire, they found the body of a deceased adult male behind the door."
A bond of $1 million was set for both Bulstrom and Morris at their arraignment on Wednesday, while Cunningham also had a $1 million bond set on Friday. Bulstom and Morris appeared in court Friday for a status hearing.
The State Fire Marshal previously ruled that the fatal Canton fire was caused by arson. In a release, SFM officials said that video captured by witnesses shows "multiple persons of interest fleeing the scene at the time of the fire."
